About

Song Recording

The first time I ever heard a recording of my singing voice was when I was in college. I never saw a video of myself until I was in high school. Back then we didn’t have the ability to record on our phones. Someone had to have a video camera.

When I was in college, I studied music. The recording students were in the same classes as I was, and one of them offered to show me how to use “Finale” and “ProTools.” I thought it was really cool, but I just got to look at it for a few minutes. I later used “Finale” to print out sheet music of songs I wrote, which was a very tedious task.

I started college in 1994 and took the first online college class offered in the United States in 1995. At the time, it was a doctoral project of the student teaching it. The only other class she could find online was being offered in Canada. I fully embraced technology as the wave of the future.

In 2012 I recorded some rounds using “Garage Band.” They are the recordings in my “Traditional Rounds” album. I was always trying out new free apps including trying to build an app for iPhone and getting on YouTube in its early stages. However, I never took any classes and didn’t understand the full capacity of the programs I used.

Fast forward to today. I spend very little time on new technology. I try to work on projects as quickly as possible. I recorded my “Jesus is my Rock” album with my daughter’s friend, who just graduated high school. Although I enjoyed the project, I felt that I would like to know more about the process and have more control. I don’t listen to much music because I’m either focusing on writing music, or teaching children’s songs at work. I need to learn what are the elements of popular Christian songs.

In conclusion, I have just purchased a pre-amp and some recording equipment. I always try to be transparent with the process of what I’m learning. As I continue to work on recording my own songs and finding tracks to attract listeners, I’d love your feedback on my growth as a musician. Thanks so much for your support!

New Arrivals!

I’m so excited about the new things coming out! My daughter is releasing her first single on April 20 called “A New High.” Look up the artist “Anastazia” on all streaming platforms and also on iTunes.

I am releasing a book on April 20 called “10 Ways Jesus Makes Me Happy!” It will be available on Amazon. I think it costs $6, so it’s very affordable. It is very short with 30 pages, but I felt it was important to share why I’m a Christian.

Finally, I have another single coming out May 12 called “The Great Commission.” Once again, it is available on all streaming platforms and iTunes. You can also go to JenniferMom777 on YouTube to watch videos for free.

I’m so excited to share all of these awesome contributions with the world!

Many Listeners!

For those that aren’t in the music business, I get paid per stream, but only if I actually wrote the song. I’m excited that I had over 800 listeners all over the world for my recording of “Rose, Rose!” Unfortunately I didn’t write it, so I’m still a struggling musician, but I was so inspired that I had listeners from places like the UK, and Germany! I have my “Psalm 23” coming out as an instrumental version in a few weeks as well as another traditional round called “Dona Nobis Pacem.” I also have over 100 YouTube subscribers and they are good about viewing what I post! I try to post something every week on YouTube. It’s so cool seeing the engagement with my audience! Thanks for supporting me!

Albums Live!

I am so excited to share the news that “Psalm 23”, “Jesus is my Rock”, and “Favorite Traditional English Rounds” are live! Also, “God So Loved the World” will come out October 17th! It is currently available on YouTube as well.

I hope you enjoy listening to these songs about God. In this uncertain time that we live in, it’s great to know God loves the world and will bring peace in every circumstance. Faith will make us whole! I pray for comfort for all who come to him!

Catalyst for Salvation

Although I was Saved by Jesus Christ at a very young age, I didn’t really understand the weight of salvation until I had to repent for a sin that I thought was beyond grace. I don’t share that story, but I can tell you that I knew I shouldn’t disobey God, but I did anyway. I didn’t feel that God should forgive intentional disobedience. That was a powerful realization, that the gift of grace is totally free. I might not be able to forgive myself, but Jesus is just waiting for the chance to bring me closer to him!

A few months ago I was talking to a relative. She had lost a child. Her heart ached and nothing could heal that pain. That was her pivotal coming to Jesus moment. When she shared her story of total reliance on Jesus and digging into the word of God, I realized that the catalyst for salvation could be other things besides forgiveness of sin.

When Jesus died, he saved us from physical death and spiritual death, which is separation from him. I was so excited to discover that God can reach out and turn us to him during both events, sin and also facing death.

But wait, there’s more! I just had an a-ha moment! Jesus can turn us to him during any event that causes us to realize we can’t do this life alone. Any time that we realize our total dependence on him. Another friend said she was in a bad car accident and her mind was opened, her heart could understand the expression in the Bible that he gives us our very breath. God works in miraculous ways.

The question for each of us is, will we acknowledge our total dependence on him today? Will we realize he is our light, and provides our earth, our relationships, and without him this existence is meaningless? Will we thank him? Will we put our trust in him? Will we acknowledge our mistakes, however big or small, and allow him to cover them with his grace?

I am so grateful for each time the Holy Spirit reveals truth to me! Thank you Jesus for your love!

Faith Through Fear

All my life I’ve heard that if you experience fear it is a lack of faith. I’m starting to realize that my feelings are from my flesh. To fear is to be human, but if we allow ourselves to act out of fear, we are not relying on God. My latest fear is regarding my deadline that I set for my album. What if it doesn’t happen? What will people think? I am afraid that people will think I’m irresponsible. To me, being responsible is the most important character trait. I value responsibility over friendliness, or other traits. God has revealed that the most important trait is trust in God. Instead of worrying about what people will think of me, I should humble myself and show people my flaws. Instead of being embarrassed, I need to be transparent about my weaknesses.

The other fear is, What if I lose listeners? If the album doesn’t come out when I have an audience, maybe they will forget to listen later. Again, faith comes into play. Through prayer, I feel that God is telling me he will provide an audience for my music. I don’t need to find my audience. I don’t need to rely on social media or other man-made techniques to build my business. In this situation, God has told me that he will provide listeners at the right time, when they are ready to hear and when I’m ready to share.

Today, my pastor said we should involve others in praying for our needs. I think I also need to be willing to pray with people. I’m learning how to pray in a way that doesn’t sound like a pre-written script. I’m learning to pray out loud, but directly to God, instead of to the people listening. Seeking his will as the words come out of my mouth, that is the direction he is giving me. As you read this, I pray that you can also pray with others and share your heart. God alone will provide a path that you couldn’t imagine.

My computer is telling me that I have used the word “provide” too much. What a blessing that is! It is a great reminder that God does something all the time. Just like his eye is on the sparrow, he is a great provider! Praise God!

Book

My book, “Christian-based Conflict Resolution Lessons for Families” is a short workbook that will help parents begin the conversation with their young children. Whether its trouble with a sibling at home or a disagreement at school, young children struggle to solve their own problems in a kind way. This book, written by a music teacher, uses songs, pictures, and role playing to teach eight Biblical problem solving skills. This book in paperback or e-book makes learning fun and easy for a family on the go!
